Lampshades have never looked better
Lampshades have never looked better thanks to the availability of fantastic fabrics. Many clients are choosing to use patterned fabrics on shades. This is a great way to complete a designed and finished look at a very reasonable cost. Even more so if you are able to use off cuts from other soft furnishings such as; curtains, blinds, headboards and valances. If you are paying a handsome price for fabric and have off cuts it makes sense to utilise the fabric in a unique bespoke lampshade.
Here in Lighting Agency we are able to turn your fabric and wall papers into unique lampshades. Generally the fabrics should be modern branded fabrics like these wonderful shades in fabrics from; Designers Guild, Sanderson’s and Timny Fowler.
Having lampshades bespoke to you is very satisfying whether they be 100cm wide pendants or 10cm wide clip shades. Sometimes the very large pattern repeats can be focused down to show a special colour or pattern pleasing as a piece of art in its own right or bringing a theme together.
When deciding on lampshades remember to consider the purpose and priority requirements. For example do you require a lot of light, mood light, a toning colour, or a theme and style suitable for the lamp and or the room. The lamp shade is well named it will shade the light bulb reducing the brightness.
What I like to see is a warming or welcoming pool of light, standing alone or as part of a placed lighting scheme.
The lampshades featured above are all from our standard hard shade collection with hand rolled edges made in the UK. Further options are coloured inners pvc based in gold silver champagne and copper or fabric colour of your choice.
